Getting Involved
There is no ‘best time’ to get involved with the GSA. We appreciate new students with fresh ideas, as well as students with a few years under their belts. Fresh out of college? Working part-time? Married with kids? Business student? MD/PhD program? You are all graduate students, and we want to get your input.
The easiest way to get involved is to join a GSA committee. These committees meet occasionally and food is often provided. You can also attend the monthly GSA Council meetings held on the third Tuesday of every month. All grad students are invited, and food is always provided.
Another easy way to get involved and meet people on campus is to volunteer for major GSA events like orientation, picnics, culture night, and Beer Bike! Just look for the signup sheets a week or two in advance in the weekly GSA announcements. Also, always look for upcoming events on the GSA Calendar.
Many students get involved in the GSA as part of their departmental GSA, or other student clubs.
As a Rice Graduate Student, you can also become a part of our Facebook group or follow us on Instagram.
