You can find a lot of used items on craigslist. Individuals create postings, like in the classified section of newspapers. It's up to you to contact the seller, decide on a price and arrange to pick it up (it is very uncommon for the seller to arrange delivery, so find a friend with a truck or big car). Keep in mind that most sellers will insist on being paid in cash, and that haggling for a lower price is routine. Beware of items with no pictures (you can request them by email) and be sure that any electronics or appliances work before you pay for them. Craigslist is also a great way to get rid of items quickly when you move.
