International Education Week's Mini-World Cup, 11/21

International Education Week (IEW) is fast approaching (taking place November 16th thru the 20th) and to celebrate it, the Office of International Students and Scholars is organizing a wide variety of events to commemorate such a special week. I would like to invite you to be part of one of the most favorite events… the RICE MINI SOCCER WORLD CUP!

Four teams will be competing for the glory to hold the championship cup this year! The teams are: Africa, America, Asia, and Europe.
When: Saturday, November 21st from 10:00am to 3:00pm
Where: Soccer fields in front of the Jones School
Schedule: 10-11am: First Game (Teams: Asia – Europe); 11-12pm: Second Game (Teams: Africa – America); 12-1pm: Lunch Break (OISS will provide cereal bars and drinks); 1-2pm: Third Game (Teams: Winner of first and second game); 2-3pm: Awards to winners

All Rice community is invited to participate: Students, scholars, and staff. Please feel free to join ANY of the four teams. Our goal is to enjoy this sport in a friendly internationally diverse atmosphere while making new friends! To sign up for a team, please send the following information to one of our coordinators: your name, email, phone number, country of origin, department, 1st team preference, 2nd team preference, preferred position, and anything else you might want your potential teammates to know about you!
