Graduate Council Representatives
The Graduate Student Council consists of voting "Department Representatives" and non-voting "Cultural Club Representatives." Department Representatives to the Graduate Student Council have the following responsibilities:
- Attend all Graduate Student Council meetings. If a representative is unable to attend the council meeting, he/she must inform the Internal Affairs Vice-President at least 5 days in advance with the name and e-mail address of the individual who will serve as his/her proxy.
- Forward announcements e-mailed via the GSA-reps listserv to the graduate students in his/her department.
- Service Requirements
- Organize one GSA event per semester OR
- Serve on a University standing committee OR
- Serve on an internal GSA committee.
- Participate in the GSA Representatives' Retreat.
- Facilitate continuity by ensuring a new department representative is selected before stepping down. Traditionally, the Graduate Council meeting in April serves as the annual change-over meeting. Representatives must inform the GSA Secretary of the change-over.
