Event Date and Time:
07/25/2008 - 12:30pm

The Rice University Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies invites Rice graduate students and Postdocs to a special lunchtime event:

"An intimate conversation with Alicia Castillo, Ph.D."

Friday, July 25
Duncan Hall 1042
12:30 pm
A light lunch will be provided to the first 25 to arrive.

Dr. Castillo will discuss the findings of her new book, From Brain to Gain, to explore how smart individuals take different pathways to create knowledge or to create wealth. As a former scientist turned entrepreneur and venture capitalist, Dr. Castillo navigates through the reflections that guide people to measure success in a way that supports or halts prosperity. Brainers’ goals are based on creating knowledge and innovations, Gainers’ goals are based on a triple bottom line: achievement, use and payback. The main distinctions between Gainers and Brainers reside in the questions they ask more than the answers they create regarding three critical areas: control, interaction and rewards.
