Room for rent in house
My name is Sarah Nations and I'm an undergrad at Rice. I'm trying to move to an empty spot on campus, but I need to find someone to live in my spot in the house where I'm living. I'm looking to move on at the end of this semester or the very beginning of next semester. The house is less than half a mile from campus; down Greenbriar before Holcombe.
Competition pool opens 11/02
The Barbara and David Gibbs Recreation and Wellness Center Competition Pool will open on Monday, November 2nd at 6 AM. This new heated swimming pool will provide the Rice community with ample opportunity for both recreational and competitive swim events.
Flu Kits available
Flu kits are now available to the graduate students and these are the points of distribution: RGA, RVA, OISS, and GPS. The cost is $1, and the kits include a very nice digital thermometer, 4 ounce hand sanitizer, packet of 2 Extra-Strength Tylenol, pocket-size Kleenex, and accurate information about how to avoid/treat the flu.

Don't own a car, but need to use one sometimes? Check out the convenience of the Zipcar program (http://www.zipcar.com/)! There are Zipcars conveniently located on Rice's campus.

EMT-B applications available
Interested in EMS? Applications for a possible Spring 2010 EMT-Basic Course are currently available. Email rems-education@rice.edu if interested. Typed applications are due 5 pm Friday, November 6th, and will be followed by a short interview.

Child care wanted
Love family of Rice alums seeks student to assist with child care 17-20 hours per week in the afternoons M-F. We have three children (ages 8, 7 and 5), and we live three miles from campus. Reliable transportation is required, as the position involves picking the children up from school, driving them to activities, playing with them and overseeing homework.
Fall Outreach Day, 11/07 - volunteers wanted
Fall Outreach Day is coming up on Saturday, November 7th. This event is sponsored by the Rice Student Volunteer Program (RSVP) and gives Rice students an opportunity to volunteer together at many non-profit organizations around Houston. The website (http://cic.rice.edu) contains many volunteer opportunities the morning and afternoon of November 7th.
"SPEAKT OUT!: A Woman's World" - an Open Mic Night
Calling all lyricists, poets, singers, rappers, and performers: do you know a woman? Are you one? Then we need your voice for "SPEAK OUT!: A Woman's World," an Open Mic Night hosted by the Egyptian Queens, RPC and Rice Women's Resource Center at Willy's Pub at 9 pm, November 12th.

The time approaches once again for another Moustachio Bashio. The date is November 19, 2009 so start growing your moustache now!!
We are going to be doing half off beers for all with a moustahce. So come show off your nastiest facial hair. We might even give out a prize or two!

Need a haircut, and want to get one at a cheap price, without even leaving campus? Times Barber Shop associate Robert Arellano has been cutting hair in the Rice Student Center for more than 15 years, by invitation, on a monthly basis. Cuts cost only $8.00 for both men and women.
