I am originally from Iran and I came to Houston five years ago to pursue a PhD in Chemical Engineering. My research interests include nanotechnology, material science, and separation. My dissertation examines molecule translocation through nanochannels.
I strongly believe in the idea that everyone has a unique gift or talent that need to be explored. That’s why I am dedicated to improving self-awareness globally through different activities, such as assisting a team to establish and develop a new major in an online university. At GSA, I would like to help students find the gift in their future career. Figuring out their career path isn’t an event, it’s a journey, and we would like to provide opportunities for students to help them succeed in this journey. GSA can serve as an important tool to allow networking both between alumni and students and between students in different programs to show students the different choices they can make in their career.
In my spare time, I enjoy exploring nature, singing, watching movies, and reading books that have absolutely nothing to do with science. I also really enjoy working with people, leading teams, and getting involved in new programs and activities.
