I’m originally from the Washington, D.C. area and I obtained my B.S. in Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh. I came to Rice to do research in tissue engineering and biomaterials (and to escape the cold), and my doctoral work seeks to develop a 3D in vitro model for lung cancer. When not attempting to save the world with science, I enjoy weightlifting, getting free samples at Costco, and watching old Nickelodeon movies on Netflix. In the past, I have served on BioE GSA as Social Chair and I served as last year’s GSA VP of Student Advocacy. As President, I look forward to advocating for graduate student needs and promoting a campus that is not just fun, but also safe and inclusive for our diverse population!
