I grew up in Saint Petersburg, Florida and earned my B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University. I live in Houston with my wife, Alli, and we’re the happy parents of nine thriving houseplants. I started my Ph.D. in Bioengineering at Rice in Fall 2016. My research focuses on leveraging 3D printing to develop biomaterials for bone and cartilage repair. After graduation I plan to pursue a career in Sales Engineering and Healthcare Consulting. Outside of lab, I work as a consultant at the Center for Academic and Professional Communication and volunteer at a local non-profit innovation company where I help develop strategic partnerships with life science companies in Houston. In my spare time, I run a lifestyle blog and hone my skills as a wannabe chef. As VP of Finance, I work with the other E-Board members to improve the graduate student experience at Rice, in particular from a financial lens. My primary role is in the planning and financing of activities on and off campus, maintaining the annual budget, and advertising for opportunities at Rice. I also work with the GSA Grants Committee and the Programming Partnership Fund to offer funding to student organizations for their events throughout the year.
