I’m originally from the Houston area and I earned my B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2017. I chose Rice for grad school because I loved the people here; everyone seemed very happy and supportive of one another and I really wanted to be a part of that! In the Bioengineering Department here at Rice, I work in a tissue engineering and biomaterials lab where I am trying to develop treatments for people with cartilage and bone damage. Outside of research, I love hiking and camping and I really love baking and hosting. As part of the GSA, I really want to make sure that every grad student on campus feels that they belong and are appreciated and heard. I really want to encourage more partnerships this year between the GSA and cultural, interest, and departmental groups to increase the diversity of events for graduate students at Rice and reach more of our graduate student population.
